How are Google Fonts different from others?
How are Google Fonts different from others, besides the fact that they are easier to include?
I remember a few years ago a layout designer told me that some fonts not from Google Fonts can be displayed with errors in the browser.
Namely, we encountered such a problem that a third-party font not from Google Fonts connected to our site did not want to be aligned to the center of the screen and was constantly displayed somehow crookedly.
As a result, for the sake of experiment, we decided to connect a font from Google Fonts and immediately everything aligned perfectly.

They are no different. What does it mean to connect easier?) Take any example of a mixin from Google with connecting fonts, and it will connect in the same way as Google's (just locally). Each font renders differently in the browser, perhaps the root of your problem is in the font that you downloaded from the outside.
