How to create fully customizable themes for WordPress?
What methods exist?
Previously, I didn’t have to make completely changeable themes in the VP, but now I fell into a stupor :)

All theme settings are built, as a rule, on 4 functions

Using them, you can do anything
The engine has a built-in customization API https://codex.wordpress. org/Theme_Customization_API
but it is not much used, mainly for a dozen or so settings. Usually all sorts of self-written solutions are used, currently the most popular is Redux https://reduxframework.com/
