How are files downloaded in windows?

Good afternoon!

Introductory part:
There is a laptop Dell inspiron 7577 on board which is installed:
1)SSD m.2 /a-DATA sx6000pnp/ (Windows 10 is installed on this disk, drive "C")
2)SSHD sata /SEAGATE st1000lx015-1u7172/ ( volume/partition "D" is based on it")
"μTorrent" is installed as a torrent client, by default it is installed (installed) on the disk with the OS, disk "C", also known as SSD.
The final drive for saving downloaded files is the "D" drive, aka SSHD.

Question preamble:
When downloading torrent files (let there be movies), I noticed that it writes and reads not only the HDD (because the directory where the files are saved is on disk D), but also the SSD (at the same time, taking into account good traffic (9 MB / s) the SSD heats up significantly, ~ 70 gr.). Watching the task manager, I saw that both disks produce approximately the same number of writes and reads. That is, I judged this way, the files are downloaded through the C / SSD drive (in my case), and files are already transferred and saved from it to the D / SSHD drive.
That is, we get ~ an equal amount of saved / read information on two different disks, thereby reducing the life of the ssd to an empty one (only because the algorithm is built this way).

Question:
Are my assumptions correct, regarding the fact that when downloading files, they are written and read through the disk with the OS, and only then are saved on the disk that was selected for saving?

Request:
Explain this algorithm, how everything happens, or, which is clearly better, refer to the documentation / material, for a detailed acquaintance with the issue.

It shouldn't be like this - the torrent downloads wherever you specify.
The system disk is probably loaded with other tasks, look in the resource monitor for what exactly causes the load on the system disk.

In the settings of the torrent client, as a rule, the folder is indicated where the temporary file is saved during the download (you probably have it on drive C) and the folder where the file is transferred after the download is completed (you have it on drive D).

If you want to see all records on the disk(s) - use Sysinternals Process Monitor , it will show everything-everything-everything.

Dig into the settings of your torrent client. Perhaps he has a temporary folder for incompletely downloaded files located on ssd
