How are disks numbered in Ubuntu?

The numbering depends on which port I will connect the disk to? I look through sudo lshw -class disk. now there is only one disk, it is numbered as -disk:0, if I connect the second disk to sata4 it will be numbered as -disk:1 or -disk:4? Will the new drive in lshw always show up last in the list?

Goodnight.
In terminal
you will see something like this

Устр-во Start Конец Секторы Size Тип
/dev/sda1 2048 104859469 104857422 50G Linux filesystem
/dev/sda2 104859648 140511231 35651584 17G Linux своп
/dev/sda3 140511232 436027391 295516160 140,9G Linux filesystem
/dev/sda4 436027392 436948991 921600 450M Windows recovery environment
/dev/sda5 436948992 438996991 2048000 1000M EFI System

Here one ssd connected to the first sata is called sda. Accordingly, it has five sections.
The next hard drive that you connect to the second sata will be called sdb and each partition will add its number in ascending order.
If you connect to the fourth sata, then it will still be sdb.
Well, and so on.
