I wanted to buy a reader, but then I settled on an ipad. Where to get the first ipad 16gb? Is it possible to order a new one from the states? If so, how, and will it be cheaper? Maybe someone has experience.

Maybe you can find the cheapest one on ebay? M.b. Used, but there are lots in excellent condition. I think it’s realistic to find for 300-400 with delivery.

You don't have to be afraid of ebay. I’ll say from experience that I’ve been ordering there for 3 years already, the last six months have been very active. Reached 100% of purchases. There were 2 dropshippers, but they quickly solved the problem. You may only have an overpayment for customs duty, but it will not be great either. In fact, you will get the same piece of iron as in the online store, only 2-3 times cheaper.
If the financial issue is critical - try to figure it out yourself or ask a friend / acquaintance who does this.
