Hosts in .local zone not resolving when connected via VPN?

Welcome all.
There are several employees in the company who work on their laptops, and as a result, every evening, when they go home, they take their PCs with them.
Some of them need to work from home with file balls and RDP servers on the corporate network.
So the question is: when connecting via PPTP, Windows clients cannot resolve hosts from the .local zone, for which the local DNS server is responsible.
Tell me, is it possible to somehow force clients to resolve local DNS addresses without resorting to hosts files and static DNS settings on their machines?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

When connecting via VPN, do clients use a different DNS server, or does the local one not give them the .local zone for some reason?
If the former, then ms-dns <DNS server address> must be specified in pptpd.conf. It's for pptpd, yes.

You didn't specify which VPN server you have, but the OpenVPN server has an option to push "dhcp-option DNS 10.66.0.4".

In the properties of the VPN server, add the DHCP DNS server option and specify your server as the DNS, which knows about the .local zone
