Hibernation in linux mint?

I have mint 11 on my laptop, I installed it not so long ago, everything is fine, I like everything, but suddenly a problem arose - I stopped waking up from sleep mode, I don’t know what it is connected with, before that everything was fine. in most cases, it freezes on a black screen, and there is nothing to do except forcibly turn it off and on. Very annoying.
I just started switching to Linux, so I may not know much, sorry)
well, so as not to get up 2 times) if you switch to 12 minutes - how to save all the settings?

Laptop model? I have a Samsung N150 Plus, the standby mode did not work, the kernel parameter intel_idle.max_cstate=3
helped. Is there a link to the swap partition in grub.cfg?
I advise you to try to file TuxOnIce - fast hibernation with compression, etc.
Also try to use s2disk or pm-hibernate, s2ram still has parameters there in the mana it seems to be written.
In general, it’s better to use hibernation in ram on a laptop - s2ram pm-suspend

About saving settings - I do this: before reinstalling the system, I rename the /home/{username} folder so that the home folder in the new system is clean. After installation, I transfer folders with program settings there, such as ~ / .mozilla, ~ / .Skype and others. The result is a new system with old data and settings.
