hdparm settings not working?
Hello, I have a system that screenfetch
is shown in the picture:
Root on SSD, /home and swap on raid0, made up of sdb and sdc disks.
About four months ago, I noticed that during a long idle time, the system jams both disks. Fixed this case with commands sudo hdparm -S 0 /dev/sdX
and wrap everything up ... it worked fine until yesterday.
I noticed that while the computer is idle, periodically hard drives start to start (although they should not have stopped). Also, applications began to run for a long time after idle time, because at first the system spins up the hard drives on which /home is located, and only then the programs start, i.e. everything is exactly the same as before editing the parameter.
Again I entered the above commands - there was no result. Decided to add lines to/etc/hdparm.conf
- Still no results. What am I doing wrong?
