Hdmi vga adapter?

Such a question, who knows! I bought a gtx 1050 video card, but I have an old monitor with vga output, so I bought an hdmi vga adapter, so the question is, does anyone know if this adapter affects the FPS rate, since if I had a new monitor with hdmi, it’s clear that the quality is worse but it suits me, and one more question: why do these adapters sometimes shove additional power and sound output? It is clear that Hdmi is a digital signal and vga is analog, but it doesn’t seem to affect the FPS, only the quality is worse and I don’t understand why I need additional power for this adapter, I now have it without any additional power and outputs with sound and standards
