Has there been a normal solution to problems with fonts in java on linux?

Very often I have to use the IDE from JetBrains. Everything is great, except for one. The display of fonts just kills my eyes. In mac and win such enormity is not observed. But in linux... Tried infinality, patched jdk. The latter gave tolerable results. But no more. Because of this, there is less and less desire to open the IDE. More and more I use simple editors like ST, Atom.
So why hasn't this problem been overcome yet?
UPD. Added screenshots from ubuntu and poppy.

They will supply their patched JDK along with the IDE.
