Has anyone disassembled a drum module from Roland?

A narrowly specific question, but suddenly someone was picking / hacking these devices. There is a TD-20 module on hand, you can update the firmware. You never know someone "patched" something in the firmware.
If closer to the point: is it possible to "patch the firmware" so that the module perceives one socket as another? (redirect to another input) I think that such a task is possible for inquisitive minds, but are there any in the musical environment.
