Hadoop MapReduce, tutorial, hadoop philosophy: Is it worth restarting all daemons after every "wordcount"?
I'm doing a coursework, I want to investigate the acceleration of the calculation of "wordcount" for a wikipedia dump (600Mb). Before each new launch, I most often add a new node ($HADOOP_HOME/conf/slaves)
OS: ubuntu-server-12.04.04, hadoop-1.2.1

No, you can add a slave without restarting all daemons - this is a regular operation.
Restarting does nothing but waste time.
