GSM modem for sending SMS from PC. Which to choose?

I want to send SMS from a PC (MacOS, Hackintosh) as a last resort with Windows 8.
- send SMS to 30 numbers, about once a week
- Send several SMS to my number (depending on different events, e.g. high server load , a strong change in the exchange rate, etc. )
What GSM modem can you recommend?
And if anyone knows what software is suitable for my task, is it worth bothering with Asterisk, etc. software or there are simpler applications.

For such tasks, a cell phone or a 3G usb modem is quite suitable.
