GSM gateway for asterisk

There is ubuntu 12.04 LTS. There is a need to raise asterisk and use it as a sip-gsm gateway.
As far as I understand, a 3g modem can be used for these purposes. Huawei is constantly mentioned.
The question is which modem is better to buy, in terms of ease of subsequent preparation for voice (unlock)? And most importantly where? Opsos?

I used E1550.
Here's a tutorial similar to the one I followed.

Everything is easy to find on the Internet.
The first page of search results for the key queries "unlock huawei", "unlink huawei from the operator", "chan_dongle" (I recommend this particular module for connecting the asterisk to the modem, IMHO) immediately contains all the necessary information in different languages and under different sauces.
Almost any modem locked under any OPSOSA can be unlocked and untied from this very operator.
Next, activate the voice, if it is already disabled.
And we connect with the asterisk.

Another point - for example, MTS offers www.mts.ru/mobil_inet_and_tv/internet_comp/connect/ - which of these is huawei and which is suitable?

I have three HUAWEI E173 modems taken from the radio market (unlocked there).
Don't take it as advertising, but as a friendly tip: there is a compiled chan_dongle for Ubuntu 12.04 - launchpad.net/ ~adm.resurs/+archive/asterisk
