Graphical interface of operating systems what to read?

Hello, I'm a design student. I chose the graphical interface-UI-UX of the operating system as the theme of the diploma. Now I'm looking for materials on interaction design in the OS. It is not so much the graphic design that is important, but the models and interaction paradigms themselves, like the desktop, etc. Recommend books, websites, articles, scientific papers, thank you.

I highly recommend Cooper, Raskin is an amateur.
In general, on the diploma, it would be cool to imagine yourself as a scientist from Xerox PARC, forget all the current patterns and do something completely different. No regard for reality.

It very much depends on the tasks set for implementation when achieving the required goals, the physical performance and the specifics of using a particular device, the interface (it is not only graphical!) Of the operating system of which you are going to design.

As Xerox PARC invented the mouse and window interface 30 years ago , the concept has not changed. Modernization is, but the basis is the same. And if you need to "design a graphical interface and the mechanics of the interaction of the operating system", then this should not be a screen with a computing unit.
