GPT or MBR disk?
Hello!
There is disk 0 (zero), it has several volumes. The disk is dynamic.
Windows 10 is installed on drive C.
There is also drive D, it has data (files).
He also created several volumes, empty.
The DISKPART utility shows GPT (the asterisk is there), and in the disk management snap-in it shows that the disk is MBR. And how to understand it? And at the same time, you can easily create more than 4 partitions on the disk, which seems to indicate that the disk is GPT.
I want to install Ubuntu or Kubuntu alongside Windows.
On a laptop. Old. Here is the BIOS. There is no UEFI.
I created a bootable USB flash drive with Ubuntu using Rufus, but during the installation, the partitions created on the disk were not visible. Those. I could see a whole disk 0 and disk C and two more partitions, bootable and some other. But those partitions that I created specifically for installing Ubuntu were not visible.
How can I make a bootable flash drive correctly, do I need to convert the disk layout style?

1. So, let's start with the basics: the good old BIOS will only work with mbr markup. If you do not have uefi, then in order for you to boot from the gpt disk, you will have to tinker with installing an additional bootloader. The game is not worth the candle, because all markup changes made to gpt will not be visible in the BIOS. Therefore, in order to avoid hemorrhoids - in no case do not use gpt with an old bios. Because your system is loaded with legaсy, then you have mbr markup.
2. You have a dynamic disk. Personally, I would convert it to basic, then create the 4th partition as a logical one and install the necessary Linux distribution there. To mark up the 4th partition using the Linux installer, choosing the installation in lvm. After that, you will have grub loaded, in which you will select the desired OS.
