There is one site. On it, internal statistics are maintained in addition to external ones, it takes into account only article views and accounting is only for users with javascript support.

The essence of the counter is that after document.ready is executed, setTimeout is executed and after 3 seconds a $.post request is made to the counter script that
keeps count.

Today, analysts have noticed a big difference in the counter readings - for example, internal statistics show more than 10,000 views, and external resources - three times less.

In order to understand what was going on, we decided to catch headers and ip addresses. Everything matches.
