Google Translation API: why such a volume of translation in billing?

I ordered a freelance import of goods to woocommerce from .csv with translation from Polish into Russian.
The programmer made a plugin and connected the google api for translation.
The product page, along with all descriptions, url, text in pictures, is no more than 1000 characters. There are 4900 items in total.
About 3000 were translated. At the same time, there are 64 million characters in Google billing!!!
Well, the question is where such a number of characters could come from.
I noticed that the key is marked "This key is unrestricted. Restrictions help prevent unauthorized use and quota theft."
Maybe something went to the left? How to find out where so many characters came from?
