Google Maps Api: how to calculate the distance for each individual country in the built route?

After building the route, I get the standard Directions Routes object, in it the Legs object, where the distance is located, which shows the total length of the route, but how to understand how much in which country? Legs is subdivided into steps, but I don’t see anything to catch on there either.
I ask for help
