Google Doodle + Ubuntu + FireFox = no canvas

What is with today's doodle from Google, in FireFox and Ubuntu everything is done with a bunch of divs without canvas, and in other browsers (chromium and firefox on win) everything is done with canvas, why would Google do this?

Indeed, 8 Firefox on Arch Linux is a bunch of divs (although everything works). However, Chromium under the same Arch Linux is canvas. Konqueror was even more unlucky - there is generally just a picture)
