Google Chrome installing a custom extension with policies or setting up an existing one, is it possible?
There was a task - to limit the number of open tabs in chrome, I found an extension with the necessary functionality, I can set it with policies, but ... how to set it up? I decided to go the other way, copied this extension, tweaked the code a little so that it was the way I needed it, installed it locally - it works perfectly. I packed the extension, got its identifier (it differs from the one in the store) and the question arose of how to install it for users now?
What I did: I
uploaded it to my web server and specified it in the policies as a source for installation and ... it’s useless if I specify the application ID from the store for installation - it is installed, if I specify the application ID of my application - it is not installed. How to overcome? What else does he need?
As an option, I thought to apply the settings to the extension from the store, but ... I did not find how to do it.
