Google analytics api, authorization through a service account?

I need to get data from google real time reporting api.
I generated a key json file for a google service account with the fields type, project_id, private_key_id, private_key, client_email, client_id, auth_uri, token_uri, auth_provider_x509_cert_url, client_x509_cert_url.
Further, do I understand correctly that I need to first go through oauth2 authorization with this key, get a temporary token, and send requests with it already?
