Gnash under OSX, how?

I wonder if anyone managed to get / build a Gnash binary under OSX? I spent the whole weekend arguing with him - but I never came to anything :)
Now I google this question and I understand that this topic is a complete headache.
I ask for help from those who mastered it.

Without a frontend, it's easy to assemble, in principle. But really, what do you want to get as a result?
