Give index.php instead of index.html?

Put all the "star composition": Apache, MySql, PHP5. In /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/dir.conf put index.php first, but if index.html and index.php are together in a directory, then .html always takes precedence. Maybe it's not configured in dir.conf, or I don't understand something. Maybe in .htaccess?
