GITLAB How to create a branch in an empty repository?

Hello, can you please tell me how to create a branch in an empty repository? Usually I received links to repositories where there was already an initial branch structure, at least master was. Now I got an empty turnip. cloned easily. But there is nothing more I can do. The rights seem to be develop, but there is no branches menu item to create a branch.

If, for my part, I try to create, it also fails, an error. Probodal and through the CAPE and through Tortoister

How to start in an empty repository? You need the master structure, then develop from it as usual.

@Cheizer

Add your first commit. It may just contain a Readme.md file.
And then you can create branches.
