GetSearch is default in Chrome and doesn't change, what should I do?
Installed the program UninstallTool. I brought a lot of garbage into the system with me, you know, all sorts of flash games and other crap that they put into the installer, after that I cleaned everything up first by deleting these programs, and then cleaning CureIt. But in Google Chrome, the default search is Get search and does not change. Writes that the administrator is installed and cannot be changed. What to do?

In order to leave comments, you need to log in
type chrome://policy in the address bar
on your home computer, as well as on computers outside the domain, it should be empty there.
If there are configured settings (in particular, those related to the Search Provider in your case), then the search settings are configured using group policies. Fix:
run gpedit.msc (Group Policy Editor)
Go to "Computer - Administrative Templates".
We check the presence of the "google" section - if it exists, we look for the "default search engine" section in it and turn off everything.
If there is no "google" section, download the administrative templates from here
Right-click on the administrative templates item, select "add delete template".
In the window that opens, click "add" and specify the downloaded templates (adm or admx files in the archive). The section will appear.
Remove search engine settings.
Delete completely chrome, and all folders associated with it, then install it again - profit!
I liked the solution of this project - chistilka.com, including returning the chrome search engine to the default one.
If anyone has this situation in ubuntu
in terminal:
will return something like /etc/opt/chrome/policies/managed/chrome.json
next
change settings to:
{
"DefaultSearchProviderEnabled": true,
"DefaultSearchProviderInstantURL": " http://www.google.com/search?q={searchTerms} ",
"DefaultSearchProviderKeyword": "google.com",
"DefaultSearchProviderName": "Google",
" DefaultSearchProviderSearchURL": " http://www.google.com/search?q={searchTerms} ",
"DefaultSearchProviderSuggestURL": " http://www.google.com/search?q={searchTerms} "
}
