GameDev in Russia? Tell us about it?
How does the profession of a game developer work in Russia? Well, it’s clear that this is not the same as somewhere over the hill, we don’t have companies that develop games, except for a couple from which Stalker and Metro (I don’t remember the others)
For example, in Krasnodar or your city, what does it mean to go to Gamedev companies? What should be done there? There are many vacancies, but there are no games from us.
As I understand it, somewhere in American companies, game development is a job for a whole team, where there is a place for everyone: programmers, artists, designers, musicians, directors, screenwriters, some 3D modelers, etc.) ? What is the essence of the work?

Stalker and Metro are Ukrainian projects.
There were Nival in Russia with their cool developments (I don’t know if they are doing something big now after they were bought)
There were Space Rangers, but the company no longer exists
A lot of domestic game development can be seen on VK and in mobile small projects like "Masha and the Bear" and more. There are desktop games for kids like "How to Annoy Your Neighbor".
A lot in mobile development.
And there are almost no large AAA projects, yes. There is no one to buy them.
In Russia, as elsewhere, there is no profession "game developer". Unless you are a loner, then you can say so, but then the chances of releasing a game are 0.001%
In game development involved: .... many people. Yes, anyone. Programmers, artists, managers of various formats (project managers, producers, all kinds of leads, HRs, etc.). Choose. :)
