Fundamentals of Computer Systems - any books?

Hello.
Asked a friend "I want to deal with computers. What to read?". I have been using a computer since childhood, but I didn’t think of it right away to “blurt out” like that. It is clear that you can just pick up a laptop and figure it out sooner or later, but a person loves a systematic approach and I would be happy to help him with this - but I just don’t know which book to recommend. What do you think?

An elementary school will read a computer science textbook - it will decide what it needs, and will dig in the right direction.
