FTP over Wi-FI in Android, standard n - low speed

Samsung Galaxy Note 3
OS and firmware: Android 4.3, official

Description of the problem:
File transfer is only 200-300 kb / s, although the n protocol supports much more. How so?

Actions taken:
Tried different software, e.g. SwiFTP, ES explorer

check the speed with speedtest, maybe it's in the router itself

Measure the connection speed via iperf, this will reduce the impact of restrictions on reading / writing to the phone's hdd / flash. By the way, the latter is unlikely to write faster than 10Mbps, so the file download speed will be no more than 1.25MBps.

Often, this is due to Android's power saving settings, usually in FTP applications there is a checkbox like "keep the screen on" or something similar, try it.
