FSM how to implement in a bot?

Hello, there is a bot written on the vk_api library, and it has commands in which you need to select some answer for this command to work. I implemented this as a new listening to a long pool and then something happens (I know that no one does this, but then there were no ideas how else to do it). not long ago I saw it in another FSM library, but I don’t want to go there for my own reasons. is it possible to implement this somehow?

I think that you can discard the context of the fact that this is some kind of bot, in fact the question boils down to the fact that somewhere you need to store the state, as an option, you can store it in a relational database, you can in redis, you can in RAM, the choice is yours
