Front-end, work, prospects - what to do?

Good afternoon, this is probably my purely personal matter, but I would like to hear an opinion from the outside.
I am a 3rd year student in spec. Information Security. Even before joining, I liked coding, I studied, educated myself, mostly web devs. Gradually, I realized that I chose the specialty by mistake, but I didn’t want to leave the university. After some more time, programming stopped giving me pleasure, and the thought that in the end I would become an ordinary php coder with a BIKS diploma did not get any better. As a result, I realized that the backend does not interest me, I want to make interfaces and bring them to life. As far as I know, this is our frontend. So right?
I would like to ask from your personal experience: what knowledge is needed, how easy/difficult it is to work, whether it is "lower in status" than the backend. It would be great if someone could share their experience on how to get into this "channel" the best way, the main aspects..
Google is good, but duplicate articles from copywriters did not bring much benefit.

Well, it is logical that html + css + js and everything connected with them.

It all depends on how far you want to go in that direction. There are SO many interesting things there. Starting from hacks for old IE and ending with a memory leak (Clarification - this is not about nodejs, but about js.)

What did you no longer like in the backend, and what do you dislike about security?
On the frontend, if these are not primitive interfaces, the same programming, and debugging can be even more. Lots more details to work out.
Interface design is design, maybe look in this direction if you don't like backend development structurally.
PHP does not need to be "stuffed" anywhere, you can safely forget about it altogether. In principle, you can not do layout, you know only the basics.
Where to develop - javascript according to Flanagan, read Addi Osmani patterns, and join in the current moment. Blogosphere, github to help.
