From what version of opera did crx extensions start to be used?

I read old instructions and I saw that these extensions are packaged in oex. Downloaded the opera, started testing oex, but it is not installed. Requires crx. Previously, I collected crx, put it in the opera, it works. From which version did the opera abandon oex and switch to crx? Preferably with a release date.
