From Java backend to android developer?

Hello! At the moment, I've been working as a java backend developer for a little less than a year. In principle, everything suits, the work is interesting, but for the time being, I just want to start mastering Android development for fun - write some simple applications, put them on Google Play - in general, this. The question is the following: let's say I decide to engage in android development professionally, that is, to look for a job in this profession. Suppose, in java backend development, by that time I will already be a strong middle. How problematic will it be to find a job as an android developer, experience in commercial development on the java backend and for fun development for android? Will I be able to get a job right away without losing my salary? And another question about Kotlin: I heard this is actually better java. How problematic is it after java to completely or partially switch to kotlin? Maybe it's akin to how to switch from java 7 to java 8, for example, or is it a more serious challenge?

It is impossible to give a definite answer to the question. How can strangers on the Internet know how fast you learn new things and how great your motivation is? But who but you can even say whether you can or not? If you want to try, then why the hell don't you try, but ask permission from some strangers? Maybe it's worth making such decisions on your own? How do we know how far and deep your for fun will go? About kotlin. Again, what's stopping you from trying it? Google kotlin koans - go through and understand everything yourself. And the answers on the Internet will not help you personally, because we are all different both in experience and in abilities. In short, go write code already)
