Freelancing and Python?

After three years of writing sites in PHP, I realized that I can no longer even see the code in this language. I moved to Python, seriously started studying it, now I'm reading Django manuals and trying to rivet sites.
But one somewhat stupid question arose - is it really possible to earn good amounts of money through freelancing by doing coding exclusively in Python (+ Pylons, Django, etc)? Does anyone have experience with freelancing web development without using PHP? And in general, is it in demand?
Python itself made a very good impression, Django is very pleasant and there is not the slightest desire to return to PHP.

People talk about the fact that there is a lot of work, but in reality everything is far from being quite true.
I myself have been practicing Python for a very long time using various web frameworks and have a good understanding of the current position of this platform in the freelance market and beyond.
First of all, I must say that Django is a rather lousy (to put it mildly...) web framework. For light sites - yes, something big - Pylons, Pyramid is the best choice.
Next, a little about freelancing:
There are very, very few orders on Russian freelance sites. You won't get money from this. You will be lucky if you find orders for turnkey / from scratch sites, you can use anything there. BUT! You should not take a site on a turnkey basis if you are alone and there are no familiar layout designers, designers, partners at hand.
Really find a job on ODesk. However, there are not enough orders. In general, the situation is similar, only the total number of orders is higher. But, alas, this is not always the case. Most often, you can observe “vacancies” where know-it-alls are required and not only for the web, while this is a “vacancy” from some company. Accordingly, the selection is stricter there, but if you're lucky, there will be a lot of orders.
There is another side of the modern web dev - Ruby on Rails. There are more orders everywhere than on Python, it is easier to make sites on this platform, there is more community. But! This is for webdev only.

There are no problems to find a job for a competent pythonist. IMHO.

The author of the post, do not listen to anyone, decide for yourself what is more comfortable for you to work on.
Work for Python freelancer seems to be less than for a PHP developer, this is all because no one orders sites in python for 200 bucks in 3 days.
Freelancing is a rare form of work for a Python programmer. Python / Ruby - most often used in large projects where one definitely cannot cope, perhaps because there are few freelance orders.

Unfortunately there are no jobs for Python programmers. I have been writing on it since 2000. The author of libraries for working with bill acceptors and fiscal registrars and probably the fastest library for working with DBF, so I think not the worst pythonist.
I don't really like Django, but even there is no work on it.

I am also now studying Django and trying to write real projects.
And the customer doesn’t care on it, it will be, the main thing is that it satisfies his requirements
