Free mandrill alternative?

Quietly and imperceptibly 07 of the month, the mandrill cut the quota for freeloaders to 2k letters

UPDATE: As of 2015-07-15, Mandrill's pricing has changed. See our pricing page for current details.

Every Mandrill account comes with 2,000 free trial sends.

In this connection, the question arose of finding a similar service in Europe / USA with a quota of 2k - 10k (or more) per month.

Mail servers are a little more than entirely composed of pain, blood, shit, tears, snot and suffering...
Somehow I myself wrote a mail on the Apache James + Vaadin dashboard, and I think, in the foreseeable future, publish it on github'e.
