Free alternative to MS Projects?

We needed a program\web service to visualize the progress of the project. I mean, first of all , the Gantt chart . That is essentially what MS Projects exists for. Schedule tasks for a certain period of time, distribute tasks between project participants and set phased deadlines.
I would be grateful if you could tell me a free, simple web service for this task or some free software.

If you have your own server, then RedMine , for example, can do Gantt charts.

Found openproj.org and ganttic.com .
The second is cute, but on a flash and with restrictions. Do you know of similar alternatives?

Sorry, but there are thousands of such products, and everyone is Googled. Many programmers like to start their career path with such services, so they are presented in a huge assortment. Especially - "simple" and "free".
The Gantt chart is such a basic thing that it is present almost everywhere. There are about a dozen schedulers in the Linux repositories, some of them are group ones. There is even a planner with a Gantt chart in the mail client!
Many of the programs are also available for other operating systems, such as planner, evolution, and others. With web interfaces, a good dozen projects were announced, including on Habré. There are many in the github, and with good reviews (including those that were mentioned above).

There is a free plan from a big player Wrike.com Maybe that will be enough for you.
