Filtering by product property range?

Please tell me how you can implement filtering for products that have a range of sizes.
In theory, you need to filter both by price range, only for your property. What is the best way to implement this property so that the filter works correctly?
I plan to implement the range property by customizing the regular string property and store the first value in VALUE, the second in DESCRIPTION, and the range between VALUE and DESCRIPTION should somehow work in the filter.
In fact, a smart filter can filter by range, the question is more how to implement this range property in a product so that even if the user specifies a single value in the filter and the product falls into this range, it will be filtered in the smart filter.
Perhaps I did not explain the problem very clearly, but I will give an example.
Let's say there is a product that has a center-to-center distance property, this property should be set for the product in the form of a range of 160-320 (mm), in a smart filter, for example, I set the value to 180 or the range of 150-180 and this product should fall into the selection.
