Fellow programmers, could you tell me what area of programming junior should go into?

Hello) By occupation, I am a C # programmer for Windows. Now I'm 23, I have a job and 2.5 years of experience in C#. The problem is that I want more. I miss the level that I have at work. I want more knowledge, more programming, in the end more prospects for the future. I think you know this feeling too. :-) Thus, the question arose of where to go and what to do while there is an opportunity. My dream job is interesting and complex projects, design, patterns, various development and testing methods. I want to learn everything and be a senoir in a few years. And yes, I am one of those people whose eyes burn when they see something new.

Maybe you can give some advice. I'm assuming it's android/ios?

PS Unfortunately, it is impossible to find something similar in my city.

Well. I myself started with C# though I ended up with it at the age of 20. In fact, for me personally, everything is quite simple. If you want to develop more start-up with more competition, you need to go up the technology stack, for example, move from software development to Web development, mobile development. If you want to become a narrowly focused specialist, you need to go down the stack to the hardware. Well, there is a third way, this is scientific =), there is more computer science and less code.

Well, who's stopping you from finding or creating some interesting project, leading it and gaining additional knowledge, don't leave the same beloved c#?

The basics are the same for all languages. If you understand the algorithm, then learn a new language and put it into practice - it’s hard to study the constructions of this language, and then, and in most languages the constructions are the same - strings, integers or logical operations are the same and the same, except that the spelling may be different.

What can I advise? I have been programming continuously for 37 years. Need luck. All fashionable systems now, in 3-4 years, are no longer needed by anyone. Directional knowledge required. Recently I made a request for a video "friendly mobile sites" in Russian and did not find it ...

Be sure to try to do something for Open source. Let it not be a big project, but put it there, for example, on GitHub and develop it. This will give you experience, possibly useful tips, and a line in your portfolio.

Pay attention to Xamarin (as I did)
You will have both Android and iOS and C #
You can develop to Unity3D - and already game dev, and if you follow the path of MonoXNA - the possibilities are just generally boundless.
True, for all this it is not easy to find vacancies :)
