Fedora freezes at the logging stage, what could be the reason?
Greetings! I have the 33rd Fedora, I installed it about a month ago. For some time I observed problems with the kworker process, it sometimes loaded so that the reaction to the keyboard or mouse was 20 seconds each, i.e. impossible to do anything. Everything sinned against the bitdefender antivirus, but it so happened that I didn’t load Linux for about a week, I used Windows, and when I turned it on, I observe the following problem: when I try to log in, I don’t even have a window for entering a password (if through the graphics) because. e. I click on the user icon, it disappears, the input field does not appear or x.3 later. how long it appears, but nothing can be entered there ... At the same time, it does not switch to the console mode, it stupidly does not react to anything, as if it is hanging, after a while it hangs, you can move the mouse, poke into the language change tab / reboot, shutdown, etc. (only nothing will work, although you can expand the menus) and again you can click on your user icon to repeat the picture. During the day, I periodically glancing at the laptop where all this happens, I was still able to log in (oh, a miracle). I immediately wanted to see what htop, top would show, turned on the system monitor. In short, the operative does not load, cpu too, judging by the system monitor, but htop and top did not even start, in general, there was a short-lived partial performance, after which I again hung tightly. The maximum that I could do was to ping ya.ru :) well, at least I was convinced that it was doing something. Here is such a story. In short booted in rescue mode. Everything works ... And by the way, the antivirus too, i.e. in theory, it's not about him. But the truth is that the wifi module does not work in rescue mode, that's what I started to sin on ... Maybe there are other reasons... In general, I can't figure out what can be done about it at all... But it worked for about a month... It didn't help to boot into the old kernel either (the previous one), only the rescue mode. Demolish the system. I'm lazy, but I also need a computer - blood from my nose. Has anyone else seen/heard something similar? At least in which direction to dig then? I would appreciate any advice...
