Fascination ram mother memory?

What happens if you increase the maximum memory on the motherboard more than it supports, I have a mainland, asus p5kpl se, it only supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM, what will happen if I put more, for example, there are 2 cassettes, 2 GB each, I have one I’ll remove it and put it on 4, which will eventually be 6 GB, how will the whole system behave in general, what kind of failures, etc., what to expect from such a procedure? And can something burn? Is it dangerous? I'm waiting for a proper answer. Thanks a lot.

Try it, nothing will burn.
The motherboard most likely will not see the extra memory.
