Eyes hurt after buying a new laptop, is it due to the IPS matrix?
I bought a laptop MSI GP76 Leopard. Moved from an old acer aspire with the cheapest matrix, which he took for $ 500. A month later, I noticed that my eyes began to get very tired after working at a laptop (3-4 hours), I didn’t notice this on an old laptop. And everything floats in the eyes. I heard something about the period of adaptation to IPS monitors, does anyone know if this is normal? I use 40-50% brightness. Also, I noticed that my eyes hurt after a predominantly white color on the screen

Lower the brightness even more! In the old matrix, most likely, the backlight has degraded, and the brightness has become 2 times less than the original one (and also, possibly, yellower). The new ones have crazy brightness, and even 40% is too much. In addition, it depends on the environment in which you look at the screen - if at night, and there is no backlight in the room, your eyes will quickly get tired. And shift the color balance towards yellow a little, it will become more comfortable.
I had this with another laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad), try glasses with anti-glare coating and additionally install the "blue light filter" program (there is RedShift for Ubuntu, for other systems, as far as I know too)
