I have a USB webcam, I want to make it outside and connect to my computer, how far can I extend the wire? Or do not care here? I don’t understand, but I thought that the signal might be lost or something like that, there are 5 meters where it needs to be lengthened.

There are also 10m extensions for sale. As the cable length increases, power losses increase, so you need a high-quality and thick wire or a separate power supply for the camera.

Not only power loss, usb has a very small device response timeout.
Depending on the device, it will not be seen, even with a good signal level, at a distance of several tens of meters.
