Buying links today - is it relevant? Everything that can be bought on the exchanges will most likely only harm, and at best will not bring any result at all? If so, in what cases and why are links bought?

As a webmaster I say, and not as a buyer:
In 2008-2013, a site with 50 and ~ 30 pages gave about 50 rubles per day.
A site with tits 2000 gave 1000-1500 rubles a day
. Over all these years, I brought about 1,500,000 rubles on a series of very simple sites.
The last attempt (2-3 years ago) to sell these sites on Sapa did not give anything.
IMHO, the trend is dead.

Buying links is always relevant, but there has always been a lot of garbage on the exchanges. If you can't tell a good donor from a bad one, then harm your site. Also, nothing good will come of it if you buy a lot of links with commercial anchors at once, even if the donors are good, in short, you always need to know which links to take, find where, how much, when and how, what to dilute with, for example, crowd and so on.
