Is it true that the Entity Framework technology appeared as a consequence, or can we say "in an evolutionary way" as a consequence of the LINQ language?

LINQ was invented before, it's true.
First, LINQ to SQL technology was invented and implemented. Then ADO.NET EntityFramework was already implemented and it worked without LINQ. Microsoft considered that these two technologies are competing and combined them, and EntityFramework began to develop and advance further.
