Encrypting an ssd disk using the disk itself?
Somewhere I met an overview of encryption technologies available on some ssds that are built directly into the hard drive itself. It seems that the essence is such that at first a small axis is loaded (like a stripped-down Linux), a key is entered there and after that the hard drive itself is unlocked. But I don't remember the name or where I saw it.
ps Implemented this directly by the manufacturer of the hard drive, not grub + luks

There is such a thing, HDD Password, it is set in the BIOS settings on laptops, rarely on desktops. As far as I know, the data is not encrypted, just such a password using the disk itself.
With a mini axis - there are all sorts of bitlockers, but this is no longer by means of the disk itself.
There are also usb-sata adapters with streaming encryption and password entry, but I have not seen such ones that work at the boot stage
