Email > sms = encoding problem

Hello. Tell me, please, with a new incoming Gmail, the filter sends a copy of this letter to SMS, but if the content of the letter is written in Cyrillic, then the SMS cannot be read. I set the UTF-8 encoding in the mail settings, but it did not help. What else can you try to do to solve this problem?

And what if you install 1251? Although it may be the phone itself. Tried to read sms on different ones?

You need to dig towards setting a different encoding in the mail (experiment). You can also try contacting google support.

'… | iconv -f UTF8 -t UCS-2BE | ...'
