Editing in blog_item.php does not change the front end. Causes?

Joomla 3.9.18.
Made Override com_content/category for the template in the template settings. I edit the blog_item.php file, but nothing changes on the site. I tried the simplest changes - for example:

<?php echo JLayoutHelper::render('joomla.content.blog_style_default_item_title', $this->item)."SOMETEXT"; ?>

Moreover, if, for example, you edit the blog.php file right there, all changes are displayed.
The cache is disabled.
What can be wrong?
