Eckel, Schildt or Horstmann?

Choosing a book to learn Core Java. I plan to write for Android, so the book is needed to learn the language itself, without any server-web technologies. After her, I will begin to delve into mobile technologies. While reading Horstman, a friend says that he likes Schildt.
It is desirable that the book was without excess water.

As experience has shown - read everything. Because at the beginning it seems that I read it once and sort of understood the technique / technology. When you read about the same in another source, new details may emerge and the understanding of the essence improves. But if the choice is where to start, I would advise Schildt. Eckel's there is not very consistent IMHO.

I started reading Eckel - something doesn't go.
Schildt is a guide in practice. You can read the chapters you want.
But Horstmann liked it. Although there is enough water, it is read normally. True, the 9th edition is still in the printing house ... But I want to look into it.
In general, markers are different in taste and color. What will please.

Water is everywhere, but, as for me, there is less of it in Schildt than in Horstmann.
