Dynamic 3rd level domains on win 10 in etc/hosts?

Tell me how to do it so as not to register all 3rd-level domains in etc / hosts (there can be a lot of them)?
It would be great if 127.0.0.1 *.test.local worked in hosts, but alas. What are the options for solving this issue with little bloodshed?

The problem was solved by installing Unbound.

install and use a dns server.

It is in hosts under Windows - no way. Something needs to be covered.
This can be a local DNS server ( Acrylic DNS Proxy , for example) or configured on a router with DD-WRT/OpenWRT ( dnsmasq )
