Duplicate DHCP server, is it possible?

An interesting question has arisen. I want to know if he is really interesting, or am I driving?
I have a main domain controller on my network, DNS and DHCP are also raised on this server.
Just in case, I raised the second "duplicate" controller, set up replication and DNS there, everything works as I need. But what about DHCP? Is it possible to raise a "duplicate" DHCP, which would take settings from the main one and come into operation if it falls? Or is it easier to prescribe static addresses and distribute the distribution ranges of addresses, the first distributes from 10 to 100 to the second from 101 to 250. Will they interfere with each other?

The latest editions of DHCP from MS allow you to configure the separation of areas from one interface , but, IMHO, it is more correct to make a full copy (through a permanent backup / restore) and use a "response delay" within 500 ms.
With this setting, there is a server, with all the data, including redundancy, and it will not answer while the main one is alive.

Search by tags dhcp failover.
Things you need to understand:
In the primitive case, multiple dhcp servers on the same physical network cannot live normally. Stupidly, whoever got up first and slippers. That is, whoever intercepted the request gave that address. Therefore, the servers must somehow communicate with each other. In your case, the server is Windows, they have such an opportunity.

Colleagues, starting with WServer 2012, you can easily do a full-fledged failover.
Set as many servers as you want, they will normally issue addresses and replicate all settings among themselves.
